Wert's is an Allentown staple and we dine her frequently with friends. The onion rings can't be beat, one size fits all and if you overdo you will not enjoy your meal. Take some home to re-heat in oven. Sauteed crabmeat with brown butter (on request) is the favorite of the ladies but scallops are good too. A varied menu includes meats, their varied filled hamburgers with names of the family. The draft birch beer is excellent and unlimited refills so forget the picture. The rapid seating and excellent service is consistent if you arrive as the "early birds", and we do. Monday is a hamburger special with onion rings and a piece of chocolate cake. Caution, they do not accept American Express so bring your M/C or Visa.
You will not be disappointed for either lunch or dinner.

Best time to go is at the end of early bird and before dinner crowd. If you go at 6:15 you will be waiting for a table, but it is worth the wait.

I am a huge fan of the turkey club sandwich. They slice the turkey fresh every day. My husband likes the burgers. No matter what you order for dinner, you have to get the onion strings. They are skinny fired onions, and they are delicious. They also have white birch beer on draft.

My parents took me here as a kid and I loved it. They have great specials, but they still have the old favorites on their menu that i remember as a kid.

This place is an Allentown staple, and if you go early enough, you may run into your grandparents. (Or people who look just like them.) But don't let that deter us young people.

The food here is down-home top-notch. I highly recommend the burgers and the club sandwich as your main meal, but this place shines with two things in my book: onion strings and birch beer.

The onion strings are not to be missed. Great for sharing with the whole table, but they can be wholly devoured by two with ease. (What can I say, they're delicious.) And honestly, who can turn down a pile of thin, tangled, steaming fried onion-y goodness?

The best thing about this place, though, is the birch beer. It's on draft. And frankly, that's awesome. Get it. Draft birch beer is a rare treat these days, and it's one that should not be missed.

Crowds get long around peak dinner times, so you may have to wait. The best time to go is just after early bird and before the rest of the world eats dinner.

A group of us were going to a dance on a Saturday night and we were looking for a place to eat. We wanted good food and reasonable prices. Wert's was the first place that came to mind. I called a day or two in advance as we ended up having 19 people. They were very accomodating. We had a short wait and were seated at 3 tables close to each other. I was concerned that we had only one waitress, but, she was outstanding! Since some people got dinners and others got burgers, we asked for separate checks and that was no problem. We had a wonderful time. Everyone lefted stuffed and happy. Thank You Wert's Cafe.

If you would like to have a nice meal in a clean family environment this is the place. Food is good from burgers to meals. Drinks are reasonably priced and the staff is friendly. Sometimes you need to wait for a table but generally not too long. They have a seating area while you wait. The hamburgers are very good as are the sandwiches. I also like the platters. Try their onion rings and soups too. All non-smoking and the bar area is just as nice as the back room. Not a huge restaurant, but not cramped. Enjoy.

I eat at Wert's on a fairly regular basis.

The food is always excellent, and the prices are very reasonable.

For lunch today, I had a bowl of their chili, which is always very good. If you order it with cheese, they'll broil the cheese on top of the chili for you. I then had the krainerwurst platter, which is one of my favorites. The green beens with almonds are my favorite vegetable there.

If you're tired of local diners because the service and quality has plummeted at most of them, while the prices have gone up, give Wert's a try.

We go to Wert's all the time, especially for their Monday special.

The one place both of my daughter's ask to go when they are home and my mom's favorite when she visits. It is like going home.
Great service, friendly family running the place and the burgers are the best.

Worth the stop and worth the price! Good food at reasonable prices.
